Ladybugs to you - ladybirds to me ;-).
Gabby's MMTPT278 Let's Take a Cake Walk challenge was a super fun one for me, bringing back memories of many cakes I've decorated over the years. Ones that particularly spring to mind are a bunny rabbit I made for my sister when she was 9 or 10 (spaghetti whiskers) which she wouldn't cut, a swan lake for a friend's 21st, a tennis court (leaf gelatine is great for nets, also for stained glass windows), and my brother's wedding cake (photo attached in challenge thread!).
I hope to make another card but since I recently got a ladybird die, I couldn't help but be inspired by the ladybird cake ~ the fifth of Gabby's inspiration photos.
Stamped Pick a Petal in various colours and then added chalk to the background and the small round flowers. Sprayed with fixative and added Stickles, and Liquid Pearls, before finishing off with lots of ladybirds. I think the texture in the Pick a Petal stamps, along with the sparkle, gives a suggestion of piped icing.
Thanks for being such a fun hostess this week, Gabby.
And thanks too to those who have volunteered for next year's Tickle Teaparties. Still some vacancies ;-).

Oh Sabrina.........this is such a happy springy cake card. We have snowy icy stuff going on outside with about 4" of snow forecast for later today so I'm ALL for anything that remotely reminds me that spring can't be too far away!!! ha ha

This must be like a " bird's " eye view...or a ladybirds eye view of this scrumptios cake. Was going to say too your wedding cake is awesome...love the celtic touch. I have done a few cake for family and friends too. not as much of late as more time lsftover for cards and lots of family dont eat as much cake. But they are so fun to do aren't they. you shared a cake tip so i want to replay with one...blue jello amkes good water and poppyseeds make great roads.
I had to do a big one for a person who was a horse racer adn she wanted this special English building I forget the name now was about 5 years ago but took 13 cakes and did the brick siding and used the poppy seed for the road for the little toy carriages and horses we had...looked so neat.
LOVEin the laydbirds...so cute and fun and sparkly...yah...TFS..:0)

as soon as I make my cake I'll sign up!
What a creative and colorful cake!! I didn't know you were a cake decorator too!!! My mom used to make lovely cakes! We sometimes got pressed into service, helping her make sugar bells or something. Heehee, I remember my favorite part was when she would cut off the top to make it level!!! You can guess I'd be right there to help with that!!
I'm going back to the thread so I can see your brothers cake.
Fun card!!!

WONDERFUL cake, Sabrina! Festive, pretty and love all that sparkly sugar! Your brother's cake is terrific, too! I can't imagine all the time and work you put into making the Celtic knots. Wowza! Again and again, thanks for all of your help with getting my challenge up and live. Huggles, Gabby OH, and got the sweet b.d. card today. Love the Floppy eared bunny and all those books design. Thx!
